Resources for Spring for Change: a Season of Sacred Activism are here and I cannot wait for some of these projects to come to fruition! Please click the button below to check out the new webpages and sign up for the many exciting programs UUMFE is involved in this spring.

Please also take a few minutes to fill out this quick "Hindsight is 2020" survey. Fifty-one more responses are needed for UUMFE to have a good representative sample size.

As we enter into this third week of 2020 --- as we grieve for the casualties of natural and unnatural disasters and rage over the rollback of environmental protections, may we be held by and find resolve in the strength of this community. We are in this together --- and it is go time!

Spring for Change 2020: A Season of Sacred Activism

UU Ministry for Earth invites the Unitarian Universalist faith community to embody the transformational, regenerative power of Spring through sacred activism for Earth and all our relations, from March 22nd (World Water Day) to April 22 (Earth Day) to May 22nd (International Day for Biodiversity). Highlights include community film screenings, a 3-day global climate strike, a UU intergenerational convergence in NYC, a letter-writing advocacy campaign to the US House & Senate, and a congregational eco-art project that will lead up to a beautiful public witness at the General Assembly in June 2020.

Join the Environmental Justice Practitioners Network (EJPN) webinar on January 23, 4:30 PST / 7:30 EST, with special guest Gail Forsyth-Vail, about engaging your congregation with the 2020 UUA Common Read, An Indigenous Peoples History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, with an environmental justice lens. This webinar program will discuss the original book as well as the newly released youth version of the book.

2020 is going to be a turning point for our future and whether it goes in a positive way for our planet is up to us. Scientists around the world are clear: inaction on the climate crisis will be a death sentence for millions of people. For the first time in our lives, we have an opportunity to elect a President and members of the house and senate who will fight with the urgency that science demands.

Millions of people need to join climate strikes, organize their communities and then turn out in force in November to decide this election. From small towns to cities to Washington DC, we need to make the climate crisis and the Green New Deal the defining issues of the 2020 election.
